
Credit Requirements
There are 6 tracks in the course catalog based on your certification status and each track has different credit requirements.
Track 1
2014 Corps Members who are enrolled in the Teacher Certification Pathway (TCP)
Corps members in Track 1 must complete 12 credit hours during the 2014-2015 school year. It is recommended that you complete 6 credit hours in the Fall and 6 credit hours in the Spring. There are certain credits that you have to take at certain times of the year. Please refer to the TCP program of study for additional information. Two of these credit hours must be a DEI course.
Note: This track is for all first year corps members who are enrolled in TCP. This does not apply to people who are already certified or enrolled in Georgia State University.
Track 3
Corps Members who are already certified or have satisfied TLDP requirements
Corps Members in Track 3 must complete 8 credit hours during the 2014-2015 school year. You will self-select 8 credit hours from the options provided in the course catalog. It is recommended that you complete 4 credit hours in the Fall and 4 credit hours in the Spring. Two of these credit hours must be a DEI course.
Note: This track is for first and second years who hold a Professional certificate in the state of GA, including those gained through reciprocity and 2nd years who have received confirmation of TLDP completion.
Track 5
Second year Corps Members who need to satisfy TLDP requirements
Corps members in Track 5 must complete 10 credit hours during the 2014-2015 school year. It is recommended that you complete 6 credit hours in the Fall and 4 credit hours in the Spring. Two of your credit hours are electronic portfolio work hours hosted in August, September, and October and the remaining 8 credit hours are self-select from the options provided in the course catalog. Two of these credit hours must be a DEI course.
Note: This track is for all 2nd year corps members who were enrolled in TLDP last school year and did not complete major course assessments in TLDP (e.g. Unit Planning Project, Classroom Culture Portfolio, IE Project and Final Exam, etc…) and/or did not submit a completed electronic portfolio.
Track 2
Corps Members who are enrolled in Georgia State
Corps Members who are enrolled in GSU must complete 2 credit hours during the 2014-2015 school year by taking the Power & Privilege course either during the first or second semester. Classwork from the respective institution of higher education will satisfy additional requirements.
Note: This track is for 1st and 2nd year corps members who are officially enrolled in and attending certification + Master’s classes at Georgia State University. This track is also for 2nd year corps members who are officially enrolled in Johns Hopkins and pursuing a Master’s in Educational Sciences and have received confirmation of TLDP program completion.
Track 4
Second year Corps Members who are enrolled in Johns Hopkins but need to satisfy TLDP requirements
Corps Members in Track 4 must complete 4 credit hours during the 2014-2015 school year by taking the Power & Privilege course either during the first or second semester and attending Electronic Portfolio work hours hosted in August-October.
Note: This track is for second year corps members who are pursuing a Master’s in Educational Sciences at Johns Hopkins University but did not complete major course assessments in TLDP (e.g. Unit Planning Project, Classroom Culture Portfolio, IE Project and Final Exam, etc.) and/or did not submit a completed electronic portfolio.
Track 6
Corps Members who have completed TLDP and are enrolled in Johns Hopkins
Second year Corps Members who have completed TLDP and are enrolled in Johns Hopkins must complete 2 credit hours during the 2014-2015 school year by taking the Power & Privilege course either during the first or second semester. Classwork from the respective institution of higher education will satisfy additional requirements.
Note: This track is for 2nd year corps members who are officially enrolled in Johns Hopkins and pursing a Master’s in Educational Sciences and have received confirmation of TLDP program completion.
